Job description – Leisure Site Project Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Leisure Site Project Manager at an established fishery outside of Ipswich. The fishery has seven lakes along with a tackle shop and café on site, you will be working with the owner to develop the site into a leisure facility.

We require a self-motivated, hands-on and enthusiastic individual who is a creative problem solver helping to deliver our vision of a leisure park with retail units, rented lodges, evening catering plus a variety of outdoor activities.

As the Site Project Manager, you will deliver this demanding project, from strategic planning through to implementation, construction and delivery of all the separate aspects.

Experience/skills required  

You need a minimum of 3 years’ experience and require excellent communication skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships with a wide variety of partners ranging from planning departments to contractors. This position will include working with authorities to obtain planning permissions.  You need to have a proven track record in delivering projects on time and within the budget prelims, good knowledge of health and safety, procurement, materials and document control, researching and understanding planning regulations and best practices. You need the understandings of key stage building control sign off. This role is a hands-on Project Manager with the use of tools and general on site duties.

Key tasks include:

  • liaising with the other construction professionals and, sometimes, members of the public

  • coordinating and supervising construction workers

  • finding ways to prevent problems and to solve any that crop up

  • assessing and minimising risk

  • helping to negotiating contracts and securing permits and licences & planning permissions

  • developing a detailed project plan and achieving deadlines

  • Good knowledge of building methods, regulations and planning including local authorities

  • First aid

  • SMSTS or similar

Initial Two-year contract with possibility to extend. Salary range £25-30k
